The Primary aim of Little Athletics is "the development of all children, with an emphasis on positive attitudes and a healthy lifestyle through family involvement in athletic activities."
Queensland Little Athletics is committed to developing pathways to provide opportunities for Athletes with a Disability (AWD) to participate, to develop and achieve their potential. We are working to achieve this through the development of inclusive practices that meet the needs of all athletes, including those with a disability.
Each Persons experience of disability is different.
Disability has been described as an umbrella term for any or all of the components: impairment, activity limitation and participation restriction.
Organized sport for AWD is generally divided into three broad disability groups - the deaf, persons with a physical disability and persons with an intellectual disability.
